Travel nursing is a unique lifestyle with challenges and opportunities that will not only allow you to grow as a person but as a nurse. Many of our travelers have given us insight on the apps, tricks, and go-tos of a successful travel assignment. Here are our top five apps for traveling on assignment.
Most of our travel nurses travel by car thus AAA has proven to be essential, especially during wintertime travel in many states. You’ll want to sign up for the service, which for the classic service starts at under $60 per year. AAA can come help when your stranded due to weather, breakdown or pretty much any other incidient that may occur while traveling.
While you choose between extended stay hotels or short-term leases, you can always choose to stay in an AirBnb rental for a cozier stay. Additionally, if you travel from your assignment city to another city or destination nearby, it’s nice to have the AirBnb app in your back pocket.
It can be difficult to manage funds while traveling, especially as a travel nurse. We love the Mint app for features such as budgeting, savings plans and credit score.
Just got to your assignment city and what to explore? Foursquare will help you discover the best food, nightlife, and entertainment in your area. Other users rate the restaurants, stores, and bars. You can even use Foursquare to discover people nearby!
One of the best ways to capture your travel adventures as a nurse is with Instagram. We love when our nurses share photos with us! Use the hashtag #PioneerAndFar to show us what you’ve been up to. Occasionally, we have photo sharing contests.
